| Intro: Beginning with our last issue in 1997 and continuing into this year, the Global Church News ran what was then a three-part series on the "weightier matters of the law" as identified by Christ in His stinging rebuke of the Pharisees (Matt. 23:23). We believe these to have been among the most critical articles we've ever published. I'm sure almost all of us would agree that everything God tells us is important. But somethings are more important than others. In the verse cited above, Christ identified judgment, mercy and faith as weightier---that's to say, more important---matters of the law.
