Intro: Does God play favorites? The Church of God has been described as an elusive organization that claims a unique understanding of Scripture as God's one true Church. Intro: To My Friends: This may come as a shock to you, but we've decided to start attending with Global. Sometime last November, while channel surfing, I came across the Global telecast and was immediately captivated by it. To me, it was powerful and gripping and I realized that Global was doing a Work. Intro: In our last financial report, we explained that the Church's income had increased very rapidly each year for the first 3 1/2 years. Although the income was still increasing by mid-1996, the rate of increase had slowed significantly and unexpectedly. The Church borrowed money to cover the shortfall in order to meet its commitments. Our last report also revealed the cuts that were made in order to balance the 1997 budget. Now, we'd like to show you some of the results of these adjustments as of June 30. 1997. |

|
Intro: What instructions did Jesus Christ leave for His Church? What should that Church be doing today? Motivated by a powerful vision, Jesus Christ was a man with a mission. He came to this earth for a purpose. Part of that purpose was to call a group of disciples and start the Church. Jesus told His disciples that His Church would not die (Matt. 16:18), that it would continue to exist down through the ages and be ready to marry Christ at His return (Rev. 19:7).
